Custom Dress Policies
Process
- Submit a Custom Dress Inquiry Form
- Design consultation (if approved)
- Payment either in full or in installments via Afterpay
- Production begins
- Fittings are scheduled (if applicable)
- Final balance paid & dress is delivered
Timeline
See The Slay requires a minimum of 4 weeks to produce your dress. For bridals (white/civil/traditional), at least 8 weeks are required for optimal results.
Timelines begin after deposit, measurements, and design approval are received.
Rush Orders
Rush orders (less than 4 weeks) may be accommodated depending on availability and will incur a 25% additional charge. Rush timelines are not guaranteed and are approved on a case-by-case basis.
Original Designs
While clients are welcome to submit inspiration photos, mood boards, or reference images, we do not replicate or “copy & paste” other designers’ work. Each piece is thoughtfully reimagined through our creative lens to reflect our brand’s aesthetic while honoring your vision.
Your Order Includes
An original custom sketch, fabric (unless client-provided), pattern draft, dress creation, free fitting & complimentary shipping.
Fittings
Local clients within the NJ/NYC area may be scheduled for in-person fittings by appointment. In-person fittings are not available for out-of-state or international clients. Fittings are required for all bridal dresses.
Fit accuracy for remote orders is based on the measurements provided by the client. Minor alterations may be required upon receipt of the dress.
Fabric
Fabric may be:
- Designer-sourced
- Client-provided (approval required)
Please note:
We are not responsible for issues related to client-supplied fabrics.
Returns/Refunds
All custom-made garments are final sale. Because each piece is created specifically for you, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on custom orders. Personal preference does not qualify for refunds or remakes once the design has been approved and completed.
Design Changes
Minor adjustments may be accommodated early in the process. Significant changes after production begins may result in additional charges or timeline extensions.
Declined Request
See The Slay reserves the right to decline projects that fall outside our design aesthetic, timeline capacity, or quality standards.
